Specialists from ASEAN and Japan, the Republic of Korea and China (ASEAN+3) gathered in Hanoi on February 27 to discuss financial cooperation programmes to be submitted to the upcoming ASEAN Financial Minister conferences.

The conferences include the ASEAN Financial Ministerial Meeting and the ASEAN + 3 Financial Ministerial Meeting, that will take place in Nha Trang coastal city in April.

During the week-long event, delegates will focus on appraising financial cooperation programmes to boost payment and improve risk management, consolidating economic management mechanisms in ASEAN and East Asia, and reviewing the operations of working groups involved with the Asian Bond Market Initiative (ABMI).

They will also review the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation (CMIM) Agreement and the operations of working groups on financial service liberalisation, capital markets and infrastructure funds.
