Q and A for the country’s development
The National Assembly (NA) finished its question and answer session on June 12 after two and a half days’ sitting, marking an improvement in the method of questioning and answering.
Although not all deputies were satisfied with the answers, they all hoped that ministers and other
members of the Government would do what they have promised.
The lively exchanges of ideas between NA deputies and government members showed the improvement in the way the question and answer session is run.

The discussion of hot-button topics shows that the NA is doing its best for the voters.
The session is not the time for ministers to report their achievements. All voters expect clear answers to ministers and NA deputies’ questions. They not only require explanations but also their solutions to the problem.
For example, deputies wanted the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat to find a solution to the problem where localities are lending land to foreign businesses for reforestation.
The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh, meanwhile, requested to talk about the management of online games in the context that violent games are very popular.
Another controversial problem is the state policy to buy rice from farmers. Although the government asked businesses to buy rice at VND4,000 per kilo to ensure a 30 percent profit for farmers, they can sell their rice at only VND3,500.
The Ministry of Transport’s disconnection of conjunctions among big cities, causing serious financial damage, also attracted a great deal of attention from deputies.
The urgent issues that affect people’s lives like the management of prices, monetary policies, festivals and online games, need improvement.
The NA deputies’ attention to the problems shows they are working increasingly hard to address the country’s issues.
