National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong presented a banner to the Party Central Committee’s Publicity and Education Commission in celebration of the occasion.

The banner bears the line saying ‘loyal, united, proactive, creative, and efficient for national construction and defence.”

Addressing the ceremony, Mr Trong praised the publicity and education sector and its staff for the great achievements they made over the past 80 years.

He affirmed the extremely important role of the sector in all of the Party’s revolutionary activities.

As part of the Party building work, the publicity and education sector has contributed to creating a system of viewpoints, platforms and political lines for the Vietnamese revolution, Mr Trong said.

He added that the sector has provided education on morality and discipline, instilled an iron spirit among Communists and patriots, created great solidarity, strength in the Party and created a close attachment to the people.

Mr Trong, who is also politburo member, said the sector has also played an important role in criticizing and refuting wrong viewpoints and defeating hostile forces.

He called on the sector to conduct more research and draw lessons from experiences.
