Senior lieutenant-general Tran Dai Quang, Minister of Public Security, emphasised this at a January 5 working session with his Chinese counterpart Meng Jianzhu, during his China visit from January 4-7.
Mr Meng welcomed Mr Quang’s visit and said it is a milestone in the two sides’ cooperation in preventing and combating crime.
Both Ministers agreed to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels to share experience and cooperate in holding seminars on fighting drug trafficking, money counterfeiting, and high-tech crime, as well as protecting domestic security, and boosting cooperation in exit and entry.
They also reached a consensus on strengthening ties in human resource training to sharpen their officials’ capacity and provide each other with technical assistance.
**On the same day, General Quang and his entourage met with Zhou Yongkang, Secretary of the Chinese Politics and Law Commission and Politburo Standing Committee member of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
During the meeting, Mr. Zhou said he hopes the two sides will continue boosting cooperation under the motto “friendly neighbourliness, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term stability looking towards the future” and in the spirit of “good neighbours, good friends, good comrades, and good partners.”
