A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by State President Nguyen Minh Triet will attend the 17th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit and the ASEAN-US summit in Singapore on November 14-15.

APEC leaders will discuss measures to cope with the global financial-economic crisis and prepare for post-crisis recovery. They are expected to support a multilateral trade system, promote regional economic integration and increase cooperation among APEC member countries.

Mr Triet is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Chief Executive Officers (CEO) summit.

On November 15, he will attend an ASEAN-US summit where ASEAN leaders and the US President will discuss ways to strengthen the dialogue between ASEAN and the US.

Then Mr Triet will pay an official visit to Singapore on November 16-17 at the invitation of President S.R. Nathan.

He will hold talks with President Nathan and meet with other senior government officials on measures to boost comprehensive cooperation, especially in economics, trade and investment.

He is scheduled to attend a Vietnam-Singapore business forum and visit several economic and cultural centres in Singapore.
