President Sang meets with Kazakhstan parliament leaders

State President Truong Tan Sang on September 10 met with Speaker of the Senate of Kazakhstan Kairat Mami and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin.

The talks were part of President Sang’s ongoing visit to Kazakhstan as of September 9.

During their meeting, Mr Sang and Mr Mami expressed their delight at the fine development of bilateral political relations.

They discussed measures to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ legislative bodies. They agreed to implement the previously-signed agreements and pledged mutual support for each other at regional and international forums.

In the afternoon, Mr Sang met with Nurlan Nigmatulin who highlighted Vietnam’s rising prestige and its socio-economic achievements in the renovation process.

They stressed the need to fully tap potential for bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, oil and gas, processing, garment, manufacturing, and tourism.

The two parties also agreed to lift Vietnam- Kazakhstan relations to a higher level for mutual benefits.

On this occasion, President Sang conveyed Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung’s invitations to the Kazakhstan parliament leaders, Kairat Mami and Nurlan Nigmatulin, to visit Vietnam. The two speakers accepted the invitations with pleasure.

The same day, Mr Sang laid a wreath at the martyrs’ monument to pay tribute to those Kazakhstan combatants who had laid down their lives for national defence.
