Welcoming the Mongolian chief justice and the accompanying high-level delegation, the Vietnamese State leader expressed satisfaction with the continued strengthening of the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Mongolia in recent years, noting substantive progress in politics, economics, trade, education and people-to-people exchanges. He recalled that the two countries upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Partnership in September 2024.
The President said the Party, State and people of Vietnam remember and value Mongolia’s support and assistance during Vietnam’s struggle for national independence in the past as well as in the country’s current development process.
Congratulating Mongolia on its recent achievements, including progress in implementing the “New Recovery Policy”, the 2026-2030 development plan and the “Vision 2050”, Cuong said Vietnam appreciates Mongolia’s consistent attention to relations with Vietnam, which it considers a “third neighbour” and one of its leading partners in Southeast Asia.
Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to relations with Mongolia and wishes to continue strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries across all fields in line with the interests and aspirations of their peoples, contributing to peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.
For his part, Chief Justice Ganzorig Damdin said it was an honour to visit Vietnam and conveyed greetings and best wishes from Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to Vietnamese leaders.
The Mongolian chief justice said cooperation between the two countries has continued to deepen and become more substantive, including expanding ties between the two countries’ courts. He expressed confidence that the visit would help open a new period in judicial cooperation between the two sides.
Ganzorig Damdin also praised Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements in recent years under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, saying they show a country that is becoming increasingly dynamic with a steadily rising international standing.
Informing the president about his talks with Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam Nguyen Van Quang, Ganzorig Damdin said the discussions took place in a spirit of friendship, sincerity and mutual understanding.
Both sides compared notes on the development of each country’s judicial system and shared experience, expressing confidence that the Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries will continue to grow strongly, with judicial cooperation becoming one of its important pillars.
Recognising the efforts of the two supreme courts in promoting judicial cooperation, the president noted that since the signing of a memorandum of understanding on judicial cooperation in June 2025, the two sides have promoted delegation exchanges, training for judicial personnel, sharing adjudication experience, judicial assistance and cooperation in developing a modern judicial framework.
The President welcomed the successful outcome of the talks between the two chief justices, saying that the two sides agreed on several measures to continue realizing the memorandum and cooperation plans in the coming period. He expressed support for stronger cooperation between the two court systems to ensure practical and effective results that contribute to bilateral relations.
Cuong said he believes that following the visit, judicial cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia will continue to develop in a substantive and effective manner as a contribution to further forging the traditional friendship between the two nations.
