At a meeting in Dong Nai on April 29 to mark the 32nd anniversary of the liberation of the south and national reunification, the President presented Dong Nai province with the Ho Chi Minh Order, the second highest distinction of Vietnam.
The State leader said local authorities should pay more attention to poverty reduction and the improvement of living conditions for families of social policy beneficiaries, people in former revolutionary bases and ethnic minority groups.
He stressed that the province should develop a contingent of talented officials to fulfil industrialisation and modernisation targets.
More than 2,000 delegates from of all walks of life attended the meeting in Dong Nai province.
