President HCM’s 122nd birthday marked in Russia

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh Statute in Moscow on May 18 to mark late President Ho Chi Minh’s 122nd birthday anniversary.

Joining the ceremony were Vietnamese Embassy staff, representatives from Vietnamese agencies, the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Russian War Veteran Association, Russian friends and overseas Vietnamese in Russia.

Earlier, they also offered incense at the Uncle Ho memorial area of the Vietnamese Embassy.

Loksin Grigori, a Russian friend, said he was lucky to meet Uncle Ho several times, which made a deep impression on him. “President Ho Chi Minh is a great man, a famous politician in the history of Asia and the great thinker and leader of Vietnam,” Grigori said.

“Under his leadership, the Vietnamese people gained independence and freedom. Every year Russian friends often lay flowers on his statute,” Grigori added.

The Ho Chi Minh Museum in coordination with the Lenin Museum organized an exhibition in Ulianovsk City on the same day to display items, pictures and photographs of President Ho Chi Minh.  The event attracted a large number of Vietnamese residents and local people in Ulianovsk.
