Ho Chi Minh City Police must play an active role in administrative reform and in the fight against corruption and negative phenomena in the People’s Police Force, Mr Manh said.

The Party leader also underscored the need to intensify the management and training of police, promote the supervisory role of people, fronts and mass organisations, mobilise the concerted strength of the whole political system and the entire people in order to successfully implement the tasks of safeguarding security and social orders.

Mr Manh asked the city’s police force to be closely associated with people by encouraging the masses to engage in protecting national security as well as promoting democratic practice at the grassroots level to create favorable conditions for people to combat crime. Police should work harder and more effectively to fulfill all their assigned tasks for socio-economic development and international economic integration, Mr Manh emphasised.
