PM: Vietnam, UK should step up educational cooperation

VOV.VN -  Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the Prince of the UK and the Duke of Cambridge William Arthur Philip Louis to work to deepen the cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and the UK.

At a reception for Prince William in Hanoi on November 16, Prime Minister Phuc suggested that the two countries should expand their comprehensive cooperation in education so that Vietnamese students will be able to access the UK’s high quality educational system.

Both sides also need to boost cooperation between universities, research institutes, and vocational training institutions, Phuc said while expressing his hope that the UK will continue to help Vietnam in human resources development, English teaching, and facilitating Vietnamese students' study in the UK.

He praised the role of the British Ambassador to Vietnam, who has contributed to furthering the strategic partnership with Vietnam through the organization of high-level visits.

The Vietnamese government leader wished Prince William success in chairing the 3rd International Wildlife Trade Conference set for November 18 in Hanoi.

Prince William in turn praised Vietnam’s efforts in wildlife conservation, saying Vietnam could become a role model in these efforts.

Also the same day, Prince William was received by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh who said the UK was an important partner of Vietnam and its businesses were encouraged to invest more in Vietnam.
