PM Dung said the Vietnamese government and people wish to promote the multifaceted cooperation with Chile for mutual benefit, and that potential for cooperation is still great, especially in the economic sector, as well as in education, science and technology.
The PM proposed that the two countries boost negotiation to sign a trade agreement soon and said Chile will support Vietnam’s Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement negotiations.
He said the Vietnamese government, along with ministries and departments, will create favourable conditions for the Chilean ambassador to fulfill his responsibilities during his tenure in the country.
Ambassador Fernando Urrutia said he will help lift the two countries’ relationship to a new level, especially the effective implementation of the agreements reached by high-ranking leaders.
On the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met with Minister of National Economy of the State of Palestine Hassan Abu Libdeh.
Mr Dung reaffirmed Vietnamese government’s support for Palestine in its process of solving conflicts through peaceful negotiations and said that Vietnam wants to develop bilateral ties with Palestine in a more practical and effective manner to benefit both sides.
He also expressed support for a plan to establish a cooperative committee to spur bilateral trade and investment cooperation and said Vietnam welcomes Palestinian businesspeople who are keen to seek investment opportunities. He asked the visiting minister to discuss the early establishment of a joint business council with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Trade.
The Palestinian minister said his visit is aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, especially in the private sector, and promoting bilateral trade.
