PM Phuc’s Japan visit in pictures

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Japan on June 4-8 aims to reinforce the comprehensive economic cooperation between the two countries and enhance economic-trade and investment ties at central and local levels.

The PM, his wife and other high-ranking government officials arrived at Haneda International Airport, Tokyo on the afternoon of June 4 (local time) for an official visit to Japan and the 23rd International Conference on the Future of Asia.

Upon his arrival in Tokyo on June 4, PM Phuc met governor of Ibaraki Masaru Hashimoto.

Later, the Government leader and his wife visited the Vietnam Embassy and talked with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Japan.

It is a good time for Japanese businesses to invest in Vietnam now as the two countries have reached high-level agreements on boosting cooperation, said PM Phuc at a meeting with representatives of major Japanese enterprises on June 5.

The PM met leaders of Mazda and President and CEO of Route Inn Katsutoshi Nagayama.

The Cabinet leader delivered an important speech at the 23rd International Conference on the Future of Asia on the morning of June 5.

On the afternoon of June 5, the Cabinet leader attended the Vietnam Investment Promotion Conference in Tokyo, the largest of its kind with the participation of 1,600 delegates, including 200 Vietnamese businesspeople.

He witnessed the signing of contracts and agreements with a total value of US$22 billion between Vietnamese and Japanese ministries, sectors and localities.

The PM met with Tadamori Oshima, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan.

PM Phuc held a working session with representatives of nearly 60 Japanese businesses.

The Government leader met Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko,

and President of the Japanese House of Councillors Date Chuichi.

PM Shinzo Abe hosted an official welcome ceremony for PM Phuc and other high-ranking Vietnamese government officials at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo on the afternoon of June 6.

The two PMs held talks after the welcome ceremony.

The two sides issued a joint statement on deepening partnership.

PM Phuc hosted receptions for Governor of Kanagawa prefecture Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Aichi prefecture Hideaki Omura,

Chairman of the Japanese Communist Party Kazuo Ishii, President of the New Komeito Party Natsuo Yamaguchi, and President of the Democratic Party Murata Renho.

On June 7, PM Phuc worked with Chairman of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) Sadayuki Sakakibara and leaders of Keidanren members like Toray Industries, JXTG Holdings, Nomura Holdings, Tokyo Gas and Mitsubishi Corporation.

Later the same day, PM Phuc left Tokyo for Osaka city.

Upon his arrival, Mr Phuc had a meeting with 30 business leaders of the Kansai region.

On the afternoon of June 7, the PM met Governor of Shiga prefecture Taizo Mikazuki,

President of Kansai regional chapter of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association Teiichi Nishimura,

and Osaka Governor Ichiro Matsui.

The Government leader attended a ceremony announcing direct flights from and to Osaka by national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific. 

On June 8, the PM visited the headquarters of the Nidec-Shimpo Corporation of Nidec Group – a world’s leading hi-tech company that started operation in 1973.

He later met with leaders of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association (JVFA)’s chapters in Osaka, Hyogo, and Nara prefectures and Sakai city.

Before concluding his official visit to Japan, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka.

PM Phuc and other high-ranking Vietnamese officials arrived at Noi Bai International Airport on the evening of June 8, successfully concluding their official visit to Japan at the invitation of PM Shinzo Abe.
