PM Phuc meets Berlin Mayor

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc called for more experience sharing from Berlin in Vietnam’s urban planning and development during his meeting on July 6 with the Berlin Mayor.

Meeting with Berlin Mayor Michael Muller as part of his visit to Germany for the G20 Summit, PM Phuc asked for Berlin support in a project to develop a bilingual German and Vietnamese language nursery and the opening of a Vietinbank branch in Berlin. 

He asked asked the Mayor to share experience in planning and developing new urban areas while preserving the cultural, historical and architectural values and protecting the environment.

Michael Muller agreed with the Prime Minister’s suggestion on multiplying a cooperation model between Berlin’s Lichtenberg and Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem district started in 2015 in other districts of the two capital cities.


He praised the hardworking, studiousness and creativity of the Vietnamese expatriates in Berlin, pledging that he will consider Vietnam’s suggestions.

The Mayor consented with the Prime Minister’s proposal and pledged favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community integration while fostering their national cultural identity.
