PM Pham Minh Chinh casts ballot in NA, local council election

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse Le Thi Bich Tran cast their ballots on the morning of March 15 in Hanoi, joining nearly 79 million voters nationwide in the election for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

The Government leader and his spouse voted at Polling Station No. 21 at the community center of Residential Group 14 on Lac Long Quan Street in Tay Ho ward, Hanoi, part of Electoral Unit No. 7.

The polling station was decorated with national flags, banners and slogans, while voters gathered early in the morning to exercise their civic rights.

Election preparations at the station included the public posting of voter and candidate lists, inspection and sealing of ballot boxes, and the arrangement of voting areas to ensure order and security.

After reviewing the list of candidates for the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, PM Chinh and his spouse cast their ballots alongside other voters, including leaders of central agencies and Hanoi authorities, the youngest and oldest voters, and representatives of various social groups, in accordance with election regulations.

The Government chief hailed election preparations in Tay Ho ward, particularly at Polling Station No. 21, and urged the ward’s Election Committee to organize voting early and smoothly.

He called for conditions to be created so all eligible voters can exercise their rights, including bringing mobile ballot boxes to the homes of those unable to reach polling stations. Polling stations should also assign staff to guide and assist residents during the voting process, he said.

During a conversation with voters at the polling station, PM Chinh expressed hope that voters would exercise their democratic rights in building a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people and for the people.

He urged voters to carefully select candidates worthy of representing their aspirations in the 16th legislature and People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term, contributing to national development in a new era of prosperity, civilization and improved living standards.
