Speaking at a March 20 meeting with Myanmar President Thein Sein in Hanoi, PM Dung said he believes the President’s current visit will help raise bilateral relations to a new level.
He congratulated Myanmar on its achievements under the leadership of President Sein and said Vietnam is willing to cooperate with the neighbouring country for mutual benefits.
The Government leader proposed that both countries maintain a mechanism for annual political consultation between their Ministries of Foreign Affairs, boost cooperation in the Greater Mekong Subregion, and speed up the implementation of programmes and agreements in agriculture, aquaculture, forestry, finance, telecommunications, and energy.
President Sein underlined the positive results of the Myanmar-Vietnam friendship and relations, especially in economics, trade, national security and defence.
He said that Myanmar will create the most favourable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to expand cooperation in his country.
