During the talks in Haiphong on August 17, voters expressed their confidence in the newly-elected leaders in the State apparatus who they said will promote their intellect and fulfill their assigned tasks.
Voters asked the NA and the Government to devise solutions to issues related to national defense, the improvement of education, the development of seaports and airports and incentive policies for officers at the grassroots level. They also asked the NA to look into urgent issues such as traffic safety and social evils.
Along with promoting the progress of the Hanoi-Haiphong highway project and Tien Lang international airport, voters hoped that the government would provide support to upgrade Cau Binh Bridge and some degraded roads, especially the route from Dinh Vu port to highway 5.
On behalf of the NA delegation of the port city, PM Dung highlighted the honest and responsible opinions from the voters. He also agreed to continue to improve the quality and efficiency of education and training, especially education at university, college and vocational training levels. Additionally, Mr. Dung took note of voters’ recommendations related to planning, and policies for families with martyrs and war invalids.
Sharing difficulties of businesses, labourers and poor people in the context of high inflation and interest rates, the PM outlined the Government’s plans to continue to reduce interest rates. The Government has actively allocated capital sources to implement some major infrastructure projects in Haiphong.
Regarding national sovereignty, the PM affirmed that the Party and State have always done their best to make use of international support to defend national sovereignty and maintain peace and stability in the region.
Also at the meeting, PM Dung reviewed the country’s socio-economic situation in the past seven months and put forward solutions to curb inflation, stabilise macroeconomy, maintain a reasonable growth rate, ensure social welfare and secure political security and national sovereignty.
