The US industry executives showed their interest in doing business in Vietnam but asked the Government to continue improving the business environment and shared the view that Vietnam will soon become a leading investment destination in the region.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received a delegation of US industry leaders on May 4.

The delegation is in the country to identify investment opportunities for their respective companies, which include US giants Boeing, Chevron, Conoco Phillips, Exxon Mobil, Ford, General Electrics, IBM, Abbott, Hewlett-Packard, CitiGroup, and Time Warner.

PM Dung thanked the US-ASEAN Business Council for organising the tour and expressed his hope that US businesses will see Vietnam 's economy flourish and itsWorld Trade Organisation admission as a sound platform for them to expand both their operations and investments in the country.


The US industry executives showed their interest in doing business in Vietnam but asked the Government to continue improving the business environment and shared the view that Vietnam will soon become a leading investment destination in the region.

During the visit, the delegation attended a forum entitled “Vietnam – a bright future for US businesses,” co-organised by the Vietnamese Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the US-ASEAN Business Council, which brought together participants from different industries and ministries in Vietnam.


They also discussed with Vietnamese government officials on development strategies, trade policies and administrative reforms, and with legislators on issues related to the enforcement of laws and the implementation of WTO commitments.
