Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and representatives from relevant ministries and sectors on March 24 had a working session with the Management Board of Hoa Lac high-tech zone and authorities of northern Ha Tay province.

Apart from 200 hectares allocated to the Hoa Lac high-tech zone management board in the first phase, Ha Tay is expected to provide it with an additional 60 hectares out of the total 1,600-ha area.  Due to poor infrastructure facilities, only six projects have got off the ground. Some others are still in the appraisal process.

Mr Dung asked the Minister of Planning and Investment and the Minister of Science and Technology to help the Government iron out snags in the implementation of other projects in order to lure more investment.

He requested Ha Tay to intensify land acquisition so that the clearance of 800 hectares in the first phase will be finished by 2008, while asking the management board to scrutinize projects on transport infrastructure and water and power supplies with the aim of attracting more investors as the inflow of foreign investment capital is on the rise in Vietnam.
