Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung left Hanoi on October 15 for Sichuan, China at the invitation of the leaders of Sichuan province and Chongqing City.

PM Dung’s visit aims to strengthen cooperation in economics, trade, investment, tourism, science and technology between Vietnam and western China and also to deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.

During his three-day visit, Mr Dung will attend the 10th Western Chinese International Trade Fair – an important annual economic event for China.

He will meet with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, deliver an important speech at the second West China International Cooperation Forum and the 2009 Vietnam-China Economic and Trade Forum, and visit a number of businesses and industrial zones in Chongqing City.
