Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has confirmed Vietnam’s consistent stance of furthering the development of Vietnam-Denmark friendly and cooperative ties in various fields.
While receiving the outgoing Danish Ambassador to Vietnam, Peter Lysholt Hansen, in Hanoi on July 6, PM Dung praised Danish Ambassador Hansen’s contributions to promoting the mutual understanding and solidarity between the two countries.

He thanked the Danish Ambassador for his efforts to accelerate his Government’s assistance to Vietnam in coping with climate change and in trade, investment, education and training.

Vietnam will continue coordinating and assisting the Danish diplomatic agencies in boosting the two countries’ cooperative relations, affirmed the PM.

Mr Dung expressed his hope that the Danish diplomat would continue contributing to fostering the two countries’ relationship.

Ambassador Hansen said he was happy to witness Vietnam’s economic achievements, particularly its hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese Government and PM for supporting Danish investors’ activities in the country.

Ambassador Hansen has been awarded Vietnam’s insignia “For the Cause of Natural Resources and Environment”. During his six-year tenure, starting from 2004, the Danish Ambassador has provided great supports for the cause of environmental protection in Vietnam and the country’s efforts to minimise the impact of climate change.
