PM Dung made the request at his visit to the Mekong delta province of Hau Giang on February 4 to congratulate local people on the Tet festival. 

He praised the province’s socio-economic achievements over the past year, which helped improve people’s living conditions and contributed greatly to the development of the Mekong delta region. 

The Government leader informed local authorities and people of the success of the 11^th National Party Congress, saying that that under the sound leadership of the Party and State, in 2010, Vietnam maintained a high economic growth rate of 6.78 percent, lowered the unemployment rate in urban areas to below 5 percent and ensured macroeconomic stability. 

Vietnam also fulfilled its mission as ASEAN Chair and raised its prestige and position in the international arena, the PM said. 

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Huynh Minh Chac said Hau Giang is determined to fulfill socio-political tasks set for the period 2010-2015.
