The Fatherland Front Committees in five precincts and districts of Hai Phong city have arranged for local voters to meet five candidates, including Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung for the coming 13th National Assembly (NA) election.

The local voters highly appreciated the capacity, responsibility and action plans of these candidates and wished that they would be elected to contribute to improving the operational efficiency of the legislative body.

They also asked the NA and the Government to pay more attention to developing the agriculture-based economy, building new rural areas, improving planning work and land management and use, and taking drastic measures to reduce road accidents, protect the environment, combat corruption and prevent market prices rising.

In his speech, PM Dung thanked the local voters for their constructive opinions on important issues related to Hai Phong and the whole country and promised to work closely with other elected candidates to put forward practical proposals to the NA and relevant agencies.

PM Dung also underlined the need for local leaders to iron out snags in socio-economic development to turn Hai Phong into an industrial city with modern port services by 2015.
