PM Dung greets Australian ambassador
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received the new Australian ambassador, Hugh Borrowman, who paid a courtesy visit before assuming his position in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Mr Dung said the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Australia is bearing fruit after tapping the advantages and potential of both countries for mutual benefit.
Vietnam wants to work together with Australia to improve sustainable and effective cooperation and elevate bilateral ties to a higher level in the near future.

The PM said he hopes Ambassador Borrowman will coordinate closely with relevant Vietnamese agencies during his term to implement the cooperation agreements signed by the two countries’ leaders in the fields of economics, trade, investment, education, training and ODA funding.
Mr Dung also wants Australia to support building a prosperous and united ASEAN, as well as ASEAN countries’ common stance on the East Sea situation for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
The PM affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will create the best possible conditions for the Australian diplomat to fulfil his tasks in Vietnam
Ambassador Borrowman said he will do his utmost to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Australia in investment, trade, agriculture, education, training and national defence.
