Ministries, sectors and localities throughout the country should make a monthly report on administrative reform and corruption prevention and control with a focus on reforming cumbersome procedures for people and entrepreneurs, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

A meeting to accelerate the implementation of key tasks set by the Government in 2007 was chaired by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in Hanoi on February 22 with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Pham Sinh Hung, Pham Gia Khiem and Truong Vinh Trong, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Doan Manh Giao and other leaders.

The PM asked all ministries, sectors and localities throughout the country to make a monthly report on administrative reform and corruption prevention and control with a focus on reforming cumbersome procedures for people and entrepreneurs. He also asked them to take drastic measures aimed at raising the country’s economic growth rate.

Reviewing the socio-economic situation during the lunar Traditional New Year Festival (Tet),  Mr Dung said Vietnamese people welcomed Tet in a joyful, safe and economical manner as their living standards had been improved significantly and all families of policy beneficiaries and poor people in provinces and cities were provided with great support and assistance. He added that people are feeling more and more confident about the leadership of the Party and Government.

He praised many localities, units and individuals for minimizing traffic accidents and not using public cars for personal purposes while criticizing the recurrence of firecracker explosions in some localities and  the increased traffic accidents during the Tet holiday.
