PM Chinh chairs Steering Committee for Administrative Reform’s meeting

VOV.VN - The Party and State have identified administrative reform as one of the breakthrough tasks to revamp the law-governed socialist state for national development, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said, while chairing a meeting of the Steering Committee for Administrative Reform held on March 9.

Last year, despite facing an array of difficulties due to COVID-19, the country made every effort to deal with regular tasks, and organise major events.

“Thanks to the efforts of both the political system and the entire people, we have achieved comprehensive results in all fields. In that common achievement, there have been great contributions to administrative reform, especially in institutional improvement,” PM Chinh said.

However, during the implementation process, there remains a lot of work to do due to limitations, weaknesses, and challenges. Therefore, it can be viewed as necessary to continue promoting administrative reform across all ministries, sectors, fields, and localities.

The administrative reform must therefore aim to bring about added benefits to the people and businesses, considering them as both the centre and the subject of administrative reform, PM Chinh went on to outline.

The PM emphasised that administrative reform must be based on the Government's targets for the year which includes solidarity and discipline, as well as the proactive, safe, and effective adaptation for economic recovery and development.

This ultimate purpose is to build a clean, strong, effective, and efficient state administrative apparatus as a means of contributing to the prevention and fight against corruption and negative phenomena.

During the meeting, delegates reviewed the administrative reform work in 2021, outlined orientations and tasks of administrative reform ahead for this year. They also assessed the situation of organisation and operation of single window section in ministries, sectors, and localities, whilst discussing the operational plans and regulations of the Steering Committee.
