VOV.VN -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh underlined the importance of creating an open legal corridor in line with the country's conditions and circumstances, while chairing the Government’s monthly law-making session on March 27 in Hanoi.

The event aims to focus on building and completing law-making proposals which can be submitted to the National Assembly (NA) for consideration and approval of the Law and Ordinance Building Programme in 2024, as well as adjustments of the Law and Ordinance Building Programme in 2023 for the NA Standing Committee and the NA for discussion.

This is along with draft laws and draft documents which can be submitted to the legislature for consideration and approval at its fifth plenary session.

Government members, ministries, and sectors, especially their heads, must therefore do better in terms of law-making, continue to direct and lead the building of and comment on draft legal documents, and allocate resources in terms of human and funding for the law-building work, the PM requested.

During the course of the meeting, cabinet members will offer opinions on the NA’s draft Resolution on piloting a number of mechanisms and policies aimed at removing difficulties and obstacles in terms of the construction and investment in traffic works. This is along with fresh policies related to the management of entry, exit, transit, and residence of foreigners in Vietnam; a draft Law on Citizenship Identity (amended); and a draft Law on Credit Institutions (revised).

Participants also spent time discussing a proposal on building a law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese citizens and the Law on Exit, Entry, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Government chief emphasized that this session includes important, difficult, and complicated contents that will have far-reaching impacts on people and businesses, which need to be removed soon in terms of institutions.

He suggested that cabinet members focus their wisdom, present reports, express opinions in a manner which is brief, clear, and straight to the point, as well as discuss important issues in order to ensure the overall progress and quality of the session.
