PM Chinh arrives in Nice for UN Ocean Conference and France visit
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse, and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived in Nice on June 7 afternoon (local time), commencing a five-day working visit to France, where he will attend the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) and carry out a series of bilateral activities.

The trip is made at the invitation of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and French President Emmanuel Macron.
At Cotê d’Azur Airport, the delegation was welcomed by representatives from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese Ambassador Dinh Toan Thang, embassy staff, and Vietnamese community representatives in France.
This is the first time a Vietnamese Prime Minister has taken part in a UN Ocean Conference. It also marks PM Chinh’s first official visit to France since the two countries elevated ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in October 2024, following President Macron’s state visit to Vietnam in May 2025.
Attending the UNOC 3 as a special guest of the French President, PM Chinh will participate in numerous sessions and side events, including forums on green finance and green growth, and a marine science exhibition. He is scheduled to co-chair a summit on delta regions and deliver a keynote speech at the UNOC 3 plenary session.
His participation affirms Vietnam’s commitment to responsible global engagement and its willingness to share experience and contribute to joint efforts toward sustainable development.
On the sidelines of the conference, PM Chinh is expected to hold meetings with leaders of countries and international organisations to step up Vietnam’s cooperation with key partners.
