This is his first official visit to Myanmar at the invitation of Myanmar’s President Thein Sein since his reappointment as Prime Minister earlier this year and his third visit to the country since 2007.
During this visit, the two sides are expected to discuss measures to step up the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation, accelerate the implementation of agreements signed by high-ranking leaders of the two nations and remove difficulties facing both Vietnamese and Myanmar businesses.
The 4th GMS Summit will adopt a “New Decade GMS Strategic Framework (2012-22)” to chart development and foster sub-regional cooperation in the next ten years.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Head of the Government Office, Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, Minister of Construction Trinh Dinh Dung, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Van Binh, and deputy ministers from relevant ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Finance, Vietnamese ambassador to Myanmar, Assistant to the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
