The Prime Minister approved a plan on the implementation of a cooperative agreement on search, rescue and coping with oil spills between the governments of Vietnam and the Philippines.
The plan requires the finalization of legal procedures related to the implementation of the agreement.

Additionally, Vietnamese agencies in charge of search and rescue activities should set up their direct links with the Philippine side. The two sides will also define specific boundary, areas and duties for search and rescue activities.

Regarding oil spills, the plan also requires the building and completing of a management system on marine resources and environment, human resource training, research and development, assessment of risks to prevent and coping with oil spills at the sea waters of the two countries.
