The official list of members of the 11th tenure Central Committee of the Vietnamese Communist Party announced on January 18 has been greeted with warm applause from the public across the country.

Le Truc Phuong, born in 1945, said he had closely followed activities of the 11th National Party Congress and believed that the newly elected Central Committee, announced publicly on the mass media, will continue to lead the country to new victories.

Ngo Thanh, a retired civil servant in the Central Highland city of Pleiku, also said he had paid special attention to the election of new Central Committee members.

According to Thanh, the Congress proved to be highly democratic as it allowed and encouraged party members and congress deputies to nominate or run for the positions in the Central Committee.

Meanwhile, soldiers in Naval Zone 5 who guard the country’s southwestern sea and islands also showed keen interest in the Party Congress.

Captain To Xuan Khanh at a radar station on Phu Quoc island affirmed the importance of the Party Congress to the country’s development.
