Ties between education, society and science in Japan have been a hot topic of discussion by a Vietnamese delegation from the Science Council of Party Commissions headed by Prof. Do Nguyen Phuong as they paid a working visit to the country.

In particular, science and technology programmes aimed at bolstering socio-economic development attracted the attention of the Vietnamese delegation.

During its six-day visit, the Vietnamese delegation paid a courtesy visit to Vice Chairman of the Japanese Communist Party Ogata Yasuo, who expressed his wish to further boost comprehensive cooperation between the two parties.


Mr Phuong briefed the host on Vietnam’s development and exchange of views on socialism and the market economy, party building work and science and technology development in each country.


The delegation had working sessions with the Japanese Science, Technology and Education Ministry, the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, the Mitsubishi General Institute and the Tssukuba AIST Institute.

They met with Prof. Furuta Motoo, Deputy Rector of the Tokyo University and Prof. Tran Van Tho from the Waseda University.


They exchanged views on science and technology development in relation to to socio-economic development in each country.

The visit concluded on April 22.
