Politburo member and member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Le Hong Anh received Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean in Hanoi on August 28, during the latter’s ongoing visit to Vietnam.

Deputy PM Hean praised the Vietnamese people’s significant achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) during the country’s Doi Moi (renewal) process, which have contributed to promoting Vietnam’s role and status in the region and the world.

Mr Hean said he is pleased with the positive developments in the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore, as well as that between the Singapore People’s Action Party (PAP) and the CPV.

Singapore attaches great importance to strengthening all-round cooperation with Vietnam to bring their bilateral relations to a higher level in line with their potential for further cooperation.

Politburo member Hong Anh spoke highly of the Singaporean official and briefed him on the current socio-economic situation in Vietnam, as well as Party building work, and relations between the CPV and political parties around the world, including the PAP.

He also underlined the need to further enhance bilateral ties in various fields, particularly economics, trade and the judicial sector.

Mr Hong Anh applauded the cooperation between the Vietnam Ministry of Public Security and Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs, especially their decision to extend a cooperation agreement on preventing and controlling crime, which will improve their cooperation in the future.
