Mr Sang, who is also permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, said he is pleased with the progress in friendly and cooperative relations between the two nations over the recent past, including ties between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Singaporean Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Party official also urged Singapore to continue its support for Vietnam’s national construction during the Renewal process.

Mr Wong, who is also Minister of Home Affairs, expressed his delight at Vietnam’s strong developments since it launched the Renewal Process, and shared Singapore’s experiences in national construction and management.

Singapore expects to step up its multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, especially in investment, trade and human resources development, he said.

He expressed his pleasure at the good friendship between the CPV and the People’s Action Party of Singapore and hoped that the ties would be further strengthened in the future.
