To Huy Rua Politburo member and Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) made the remarks while meeting with He Guoqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, in Beijing on December 15.
Mr Rua, who is Head of the CPVCC’s Information and Education, and Theory Council, led a CPV delegation to Fujian province from December 12-14.
While attending a seminar on theoretical and practical experiences in addressing the global financial crisis, he emphasised that the two nations accumulate more experiences and work out more effective policies and solutions to weather the crisis and ensure rapid and steady growth of their economies in the years to come.
For his part, Mr He said the annual seminar aims to increase mutual understanding and trust as well as the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two nations and enrich the scientific socialism’s theoretical treasure.
The Chinese official spoke highly of Vietnam’s renewal achievements and experiences in dealing with the adverse impact of the crisis, thus maintaining a high economic growth rate and ensuring social security.
He expressed his hope that China and Vietnam will enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields to elevate the bilateral relationship to a new height as they are celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Friendship Year in 2010.
The participants agreed that nations throughout the world will face a wide range of post-crisis difficulties and challenges in 2010 and the following years.
Participants were also unanimous that the two Parties and States of Vietnam and China should consistently pursue the Marxism-Leninism path to socialism, improve economic institutions, and accelerate their economic restructuring and development models.
More than 200 Party officials, managers and researchers from Vietnam and China attended the fifth seminar.
The two sides agreed to hold the sixth seminar between the two parties in Vietnam next year.
