At the meeting, the LP President, Senator Anaya warmly congratulated Vietnam on great achievements the country has made over the years. He expressed his strong belief that under the CPV’s leadership, Vietnam will soon become an industrialised and strong country with wealthy people and a democratic, equal and civilised society.
Mr.Anaya affirmed that he will continue doing his best to strengthen and develop the relations between the two parties, states and peoples.
For his part, Manh spoke highly of the LP’s contributions to the left-wing movement in Latin America.
Mr Manh said he believes that the LP will gain even greater victories in the cause of peace, national independence, democracy and social progress.
On this occasion, Mr Manh sincerely thanked the LP and Mexican people for their solidarity with Vietnam and affirmed his determination to promote the friendly and cooperative ties between the two parties, states and peoples.
Earlier, the same day, a CPV delegation led by Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and permanent member of the CPV Central Committee’s Secretariat, had talks with Anaya and his delegation.
They informed each other of the situation in each party and each country and shared views on international issues of mutual concern.
In addition, the two delegations discussed measures to expand and strengthen the friendly and cooperative ties between the two parties and states.
Mr Sang, on behalf of the CPV leadership, and Mr Anaya signed a cooperation agreement between the CPV and LP for the 2010-2015 period.
The LP delegation also worked with the CPV’s Central Commission for External Relations, the Central Commission for Information and Education, the Ho Chi Minh National Political - Administrative Academy, the Vietnam News Agency and the Central Acupuncture Hospital.
