Party leader calls for expanded Vietnam-Myanmar cooperation

VOV.VN - Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has reiterated Vietnam’s unwavering policy of developing friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Myanmar bilaterally, within ASEAN, and globally.

The Party leader made the statement at an August 25 reception in Yangon for the leader of the ruling National League for Democracy (NLD).

He said following the establishment of a comprehensive cooperative partnership between Vietnam and Myanmar, the two ruling parties need to step up cooperation and experience sharing for the development of each nation, in the interests of the two peoples, as well as for regional peace, stability, and development.

The Vietnamese Party chief said he hopes the NLD will continue to reap more successes in promoting national reconciliation, developing the economy, and raising the country’s stature in the region and the world.

On behalf of the NLD Party's leadership, Mr Nyan Win said he hopes the two parties will promote their relationship and increase the exchange of experience in national governance and coordination in multilateral forums, consolidating a political foundation for the comprehensive cooperative partnership between Vietnam and Myanmar.

He greatly valued the huge and historic achievements that the Vietnamese Party, State and people have attained over the three decades of reform, considering them precious experience for the NLD and the Myanmar Government.

Nyan Win said he hopes as the ruling parties, the NLD and the Communist Party of Vietnam will intensify information and experience exchange and coordinate at multilateral forums, thereby helping to enhance the political basis for the Vietnam-Myanmar comprehensive cooperative partnership.
