Party General Secretary To Lam arrives in London for official visit to UK
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam, his spouse, and a high-level Vietnamese delegation touched down at London Stansted Airport on the morning of October 28 (local time), marking the start of the official visit to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland at the invitation of Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Those welcoming Party General Secretary To Lam, his spouse, and the delegation at the airport were British Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Indo-Pacific Seema Malhotra, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Do Minh Hung, Stephan Walton from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and British Ambassador to Vietnam Ian Frew, along with other embassy staff.
This visit further affirms Vietnam’s independent, self-reliant, diversified, and multilateral foreign policy aimed at peace, cooperation, and development, contributing to enhancing the country’s international prestige and standing.
During the visit, the Party chief is expected to hold talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, meet the UK parliamentary leadership to discuss and agree on measures to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, and participate in and give a key-note speech at a high-level economic forum with major British businesses to ramp up cooperation in finance and banking, energy, science and technology, and green development.
