A delegation from the Party Central Committee Office led by Ngo Van Du, a Party Central Committee Secretary and head of the Office, has been in Laos for a visit from June 6-12.

At a meeting in Vientiane on June 8, Lao President Chummaly Sayasone described the visit as a good chance for the two countries’ Party offices to share experience.

He expressed his hope that the two offices would increase the exchange of visits to fulfil their advisory role to their Parties, Political Bureaux and Secretariats so as to further cement the special Laos-Vietnam relationship.

Mr Du briefed his host on the result of talks between the two Party offices and said he would do his best to promote cooperation between the two organisations.

During talks in Vientiane on June 7, Mr Du and Bunpon Buttanavong, head of the Office of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee, reviewed their past operations and discussed an upcoming cooperation programme, with a focus on a Vietnamese-funded project to develop an IT system for LPRP sections.

On June 10, the Vietnamese delegation will visit Khammouan province.
