“The Vietnamese Party, State and people have provided Laos with prompt and effective assistance,” Vice President Bounnhang Volachith said at a meeting with a delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC)’s Organisation Commission in Vientiane on December 25.
He thanked the Vietnamese government for providing aid to build schools in capital Vientiane and other localities and granting scholarships to Lao students studying in Vietnam.
The Lao official, who is also a member of the Political Bureau and permanent secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP), also referred to Vietnam’s great contributions to the success of the freshly-concluded 25th SEA Games in Laos.
“The LPRP, the State and people of Laos are always fully aware of preserving and continuously fostering the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation with the Vietnamese Party, State and people, in the interests of each country and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large,” Volachith said.
He said he hopes the Organisation Commissions of the two parties will continue to help each other and share experiences in the Party building work and preparations for the national Party Congresses of each country in early 2011.
Nguyen Duc Hat, a CPVCC member and Deputy Head of the CPVCC’s Organisation Commission, who led the delegation, vowed to work closely with the LPRP Central Committee’s Organisation Commission. He briefed his host on the results of the Vietnamese delegation’s visit to Laos from December 21-26.
