Party Chief, State President meet with voters
On August 11, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and State President Truong Tan Sang both travelled to the country’s main cities to talk and meet with voters.
The meeting between Mr Trong and voters in Tay Ho district, Hanoi, took place in a democratic, open and friendly atmosphere. People expressed their pleasure at the success of the first session of the 13th National Assembly and their confidence in the new senior personnel of the National Assembly, State and Government.

Voters also highly appreciated the Government’s approval of the master plan for developing the capital city. The plan, which aims to renovate the capital by 2030 with continued development through to 2050, is expected to improve the management of urban construction, reduce traffic problems and protect the environment.
During the meeting, voters proposed Hanoi’s National Assembly deputies continue to supervise the state agencies’ responsibilities for improper use of land and wastefulness in developing public infrastructure as well as food safety.
Most at the meeting wished the National Assembly (NA) and government will pay more attention to educational infrastructure, especially that of kindergartens.

Meanwhile, President Truong Tan Sang joined Ho Chi Minh City’s NA deputies in meeting over 300 voters from district 4 of the city.
At the meeting, people stated their delight at the results of the NA session, and put their hopes on the newly elected senior leaders of the State, Government and National Assembly.
They spoke about inflation-related issues which have made their lives harder and stressed the urgent need to reform salary policy.

Voters in HCM City also made proposals on a number of legal issues. They urged the NA to quickly ratify the Marine Law and uphold the issue of safeguarding national sovereignty and marine sovereignty.
President Sang pledged his determination to protect the country’s sea and islands while making an effort to maintain peace for national construction and development.
