Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh made the remark while receiving outstanding OVs from all parts of the world who have returned to the home country to attend millennial celebrations of Thang Long-Hanoi. 

The leader expressed his hope that OVs would continue upholding the tradition of patriotism and strengthen unity to build their communities and a prosperous Vietnam with a worthy position in the international arena. 

After affirming OVs as an integral part of the Vietnamese nation, Mr. Manh urged them to make recommendations on the draft documents to be submitted to the 11^th National Party Congress, thereby contributing to the goal of a rich people, a strong nation and a democratic, equal and civilised society. 

Representatives of the OVs said they were delighted to witness the huge achievements Vietnam has recorded during the renewal and national construction process.

They thanked the Party and State for their care and sharing of the difficulties and aspirations of OVs and promised to contribute more to the development of the home country.

The same day, the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Central Committee Huynh Dam met with 200 overseas Vietnamese from 34 countries and territories who are in the capital city to attend the 1,000^th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
