Party chief attends inauguration of Ministry of Public Security headquarters
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Public Security inaugurated its headquarters at 96 Nguyen Du street, Cua Nam ward, Hanoi, on the morning of August 16, in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945-August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the All-People’s Security Protection Festival (August 19, 2005-August 19, 2025).

The event was attended by Party General Secretary To Lam and other incumbent and former Party and State leaders.
General Luong Tam Quang, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security, and Minister of Public Security, presided over the event. Current and former leaders of the Ministry, members of the Party Central Committee, and representatives of affiliated units also attended.
According to The Ministry of Public Security, the headquarters project at 96 Nguyen Du street is a key initiative exemplifying the modernization of its facilities, in line with the Politburo’s Resolution No. 12. General Secretary To Lam laid the foundation stone at the earliest stage and guided the project throughout its implementation process.
Construction began in December 2023, with the headquarters equipped with modern, synchronized systems to fully meet the Ministry’s operational needs while leaving room for future requirements.
To ensure timely completion in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Public Security Forces, the project management board and construction contractors launched a 200-day continuous work campaign to minimize construction time.

Throughout the project, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security regularly inspected the site and held weekly coordination meetings with units to review progress, resolve obstacles, and accelerate construction.
After nearly 18 months of construction, under the close and decisive guidance of the Party Committee of the Ministry, Ministry leadership, and cooperation from city and national authorities, and with the dedicated efforts of the investor and construction teams, the headquarters was completed and put into use, providing a spacious, standardized, and modern facility to support the Ministry’s operations effectively.
During the ceremony, Party General Secretary To Lam, Minister Luong Tam Quang, and other current and former leaders of the Party and State cut the ribbon to inaugurate the headquarters and planted commemorative trees on the premises.
On the same day, the Party cheief met with veteran public security officers from different periods.
In a cordial conversation with the delegates, the General Secretary extended his warm regards and best wishes to the senior officers, generals, high-ranking officials, and heroes of the Public Security Forces throughout the years. He stressed that the gathering was an opportunity to recall the proud history of the sector, the Party, and the nation, while listening to the opinions of veteran officers in order to further strengthen leadership and governance, ensuring the country’s lasting peace and sustainable development.

Highlighting the crucial role played by generations of generals and senior officers over the past 80 years, the General Secretary noted that they have not only been outstanding commanders in safeguarding national security and social order but also shining examples of integrity, character, and absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people.
Sharing with the delegates the nation’s outstanding achievements across various fields in recent years, he emphasized that these results stemmed from the Party’s decisive renewal of mindset, breakthroughs in leadership and direction, and the creation of new momentum and motivation for comprehensive reforms, ushering the country into a new era of development.
