Party Central Office chief hosts Singapore Ambassador in Hanoi

VOV.VN - Pham Gia Tuc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office, received Singapore Ambassador Rajpal Singh on March 6, who paid a courtesy call at the start of his tenure in Vietnam.

Welcoming Ambassador Rajpal Singh to his new post, Pham Gia Tuc expressed confidence that with his extensive diplomatic experience, the ambassador would leave a positive mark during his tenure in Vietnam and contribute to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He noted that Singapore is a close friend and a key economic partner, which has actively supported Vietnam during its process of regional and international integration. He affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam attach importance to relations with Singapore and the People’s Action Party, and desire to continue nurturing and deepening the newly established Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a practical and effective manner for the benefit of both nations’ countries.

Hailing recent achievements in bilateral cooperation, particularly the regular exchanges and visits at high and all levels across different channels,  Tuc said economic, trade and investment cooperation remains a bright spot in the relationship.

He suggested the two sides continue enhancing mutual understanding, consolidating political trust and making effective use of existing cooperation frameworks, while moving toward deeper and more substantive cooperation.

He also underlined the importance of effectively implementing the Action Programme on the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for 2025-2030 as well as commitments and agreements reached during recent high-level visits.

Regarding Party-to-Party cooperation,  Tuc emphasized Vietnam’s wish to further strengthen cooperation with the People’s Action Party, providing political guidance for the overall relationship between the two countries.

He suggested the two parties soon implement the Strategic Dialogue mechanism, increase exchanges between senior leaders, young leaders and mass organizations, and step up exchanges on development visions as well as ways to address socio-economic issues and respond to rapid changes in the region.

For his part, Ambassador Rajpal Singh congratulated Vietnam on the successful organisation of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and congratulated Pham Gia Tuc on being elected to the Politburo and the Secretariat for the new term.

He expressed confidence that with the consolidation of the state apparatus following the first session of the 16th legislature, Vietnam will make strong breakthroughs in the new development era and successfully realise its two centennial goals.

The ambassador affirmed that the two countries still have broad scope for cooperation and agreed with the views shared by Pham Gia Tuc on bilateral relations. He said he would make every effort to further advance cooperation in traditional areas as well as in new growth sectors.

These include developing next-generation Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) with a high level of science and technology content; enhancing clean energy connectivity through offshore wind power projects; boosting sustainable urban development, carbon credit exchanges, the development of an international financial centre, and seaports; implementing the Strategic Dialogue mechanism in 2026; and expanding cooperation in training high-quality human resources for Vietnam.

The ambassador also affirmed that both nations will continue strengthening coordination and close support for each other at multilateral forums, including the ASEAN Future Forum 2026, while making good use of opportunities in 2027, when Vietnam will host APEC and Singapore will chair ASEAN.
