VOV.VN - A ceremony was held in Hanoi on August 19 in Hanoi to hand over the Bac Bo Phu (Government Guest House) building after renovation and upgrading under a project to modernize the Presidential Office headquarters, marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (1945-2025).

Those in attendance at the event were Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Office Le Hoai Trung, and Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
At the ceremony, Party General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong, together with other leaders, cut the ribbon to inaugurate and receive the renovated Bac Bo Phu Building.
Located at No. 2 Le Thach Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, Bac Bo Phu is where President Ho Chi Minh worked in the earliest days of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. After seven months of expedited construction, the project has been completed with maximum preservation of its original architecture and details, while carefully upgrading the interior and exterior to meet modern requirements.
The handover ceremony not only marks the restoration of a historic landmark but also opens a new chapter for this iconic site. With its renewed appearance, Bac Bo Phu will continue to recount the nation’s history for future generations, while serving as a national symbol in high-level diplomatic activities and representing the image of Vietnam and its people to the international community.
As a modern architectural highlight, the building also contributes to honoring the heritage landscape surrounding Hoan Kiem Lake.
