Its US$3 million socio-economic master plan, unveiled on October 19, was developed by the international groups Monitor (US) and ARUP (UK), using new approaches and methodologies.
Under the strategy with a vision for 2030, Ninh Thuan will strive to become a destination in the country by 2030 and will grow quickly based on four pillars: enhanced competitiveness, improved infrastructure, better trade marks and capacity, and higher provincial administrative efficiency.
Ngo Vinh Kim, Vice President of the provincial People’s Committee, confirmed that Ninh Thuan will make great efforts to create an open, highly competitive climate for investment and develop its economy in a rapid and sustainable way.
According to the master plan, Ninh Thuan will focus on improving its economy’s competitiveness, narrowing the economic gap between it and other south-central provinces, and raising its per capita GDP to US$2,800 per year by 2020, equal to 85 percent of the country’s average.
The province will also try to exploit and build on its marine advantages more effectively and develop clean energy to change its economic structure.
