Sounthon Saynhachac, Lao Deputy Foreign Minister, made the statement at a March 21 reception for Nguyen Quang Tinh, who has just been appointed as Vietnamese Consul General in Pakse and three other provinces of Laos

She praised Laos-Vietnam ties of friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation in recent times, which meet the aspirations of the two countries and peoples. She expressed her hope that the two sides will continue to strengthen cooperative ties in many fields in the future.

For his part, Tinh said he is very happy to assume his new post and vowed to further develop the special ties between the two countries.

He requested the Lao Foreign Ministry and localities to support the consulate general in fulfilling its tasks.
