They highly appreciated Vietnam’s achievements since the renewal process was launched in 1986 and expressed their belief that with policies and strategies approved at the Congress, and under the sound leadership of the Party, Vietnam will see more significant developments in the future.
China’s mass media including the China Central Television, Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily widely covered the closing session of the Vietnam’s 11th National Party Congress.
In an interview with a VOV reporter, Wang Jiarui, Head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said the Congress was a great festival of the CPV in the early stage of 2010s.
Under the leadership of the CPV and Vietnamese Government, the Vietnamese people will successfully overcome challenges to speed up the renewal process and achieve the goal of a strong country with rich people living in a democratic, equitable, and civilized society.
The Chairman of the Cuba National Assembly, Ricardo Alarcon, emphasized that the 11th National Party Congress was an important event to lead Vietnam on the way to socialism.
Mr. Alarcon said the Congress reflected the CPV’s firm resolve to implement the development strategy. He spoke highly of Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements over the past 25 years under the leadership of the Party.
Despite challenges caused by the global economic crisis, Vietnam has always done its best to reinforce the political system and the national unity bloc to protect its national independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, he said.
The Chairman emphasized that Vietnam has successfully applied Marxism-Leninism in its renewal process and affirmed the historic value of Ho Chi Minh Thought.
The Asahi Shimbun, a major Japanese daily newspaper, considered Nguyen Phu Trong a pillar of theory for the CPV and said that the new leadership will follow the Party’s renewal policies to promote Vietnam’s economic development.
Another Japanese newspaper, Sankei, said the report approved at the Congress shows Vietnam’s political consistency with its renewal process, especially as it has decided a pilot programme to admit business owners to the Party.
The CPV will attract the participation of all social classes, it said.
According to Japan’s NHK Television, the new leaders of the CPV voiced their determination to promote Vietnam’s economic growth.
The closing session of the Congress was also covered by many other major news agencies such as AP, BBC, and AFP. Alastair Leithead, an Asia-based BBC correspondent, said delegates to the Congress reached a high consensus when approving the country’s five-year socio-economic development plan and voting a new Party leadership.
More than 100 reporters were involved in reflecting the progress of the Congress.
Ali, a reporter from Angola’s EME newspaper, expressed his delight at the continuous efforts made by the Vietnamese Party and people in boosting economic development, improving the people’s living conditions, and reducing poverty. He believed that the Congress’s resolution on national development will be brought to life.
