The meeting discussed a working agenda and preparations to make from now until next year when Vietnam assumes the role of ASEAN presidency.

Mr Khiem agreed to add more representatives from a number of sectors and the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee to some sub-committees to ensure security and safety for all the conferences that will be held in 2010.

The Deputy PM has asked the relevant agencies to implement all the set plans and increase their operational efficiency while noting that Vietnam will do its utmost to play its role of ASEAN Presidency to the best of its abilities as a contribution to raising the organization’s position in the region and the world.
