The Ministry of Justice officially opened the National Centre for Judicial Records in Hanoi on March 2 as a hub for using and protecting legal databases at provincial departments of justice and their counterparts in cities.

The centre will also receive, update and process judicial records from the Supreme People’s Procuracy, and authorized agencies under the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Defence, and local departments of justice.

It will receive about 200 kinds of information from the above agencies.

It will devise strategies, plans, and policies on judicial records, and advise the Minister of Justice on promulgating and using samples and papers related to those records, as well as train employees in charge of managing judicial records.

Dang Thanh Son, Director of the National Centre for Judicial Records, considers the creation of the centre a turning point in the history of the judicial branch and in public administrative reforms.
